Apple Cider Vinegar: From Orchard to Gummy

It starts as an apple on a branch and ends up in a chewy gummy. Here is how apple cider vinegar is made and why it is in Gelacept.

Step one: apples become cider

Orchard apples are washed, crushed and pressed into juice. Yeast is added, and it turns the natural sugars of the juice into alcohol, making cider.

Step two: cider becomes vinegar

Friendly bacteria then turn the cider into acetic acid. That is the tart, tangy compound that makes vinegar taste like vinegar.

The cloudy mother

Some vinegar has cloudy strands floating in it. They are called the mother and are made of the yeast and bacteria used in fermentation. Many makers filter them out, and many people leave them in.

Why a gummy?

Vinegar has a strong taste. A chewy gummy softens the tang, so a daily dose is easy to enjoy instead of something to get through.

Where it fits in Gelacept

Apple cider vinegar joins BHB to support healthy blood sugar levels and weight management.* See Gelacept Explained for the full formula.
